As a Straw Boss you'll be responsible for assisting with the supervision of and expediting the work of a small group of workers to achieve performance goals and metrics in addition to performing your work assignments.
What you'll do:
- Model and promote good safety practices.
- Work with Foreman to plan the use of resources, personnel and workflow to achieve the daily production and delivery goals.
- Be a hands-on leader working side by side with assigned work crew. Provide necessary communications, equipment, materials and training to ensure successful completion of tasks.
- Follow and ensure all crew members comply with project procedures, safety requirements, work rules, etc. Immediately inform Foreman of any safety, operational or employee issues/concerns.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with federal, state and local laws, statutes and regulations and to company and client specifications.
What you need:
- Ability to read and speak English with ability to translate into Spanish for others.
- Minimum of two years of construction, oil and gas or related industry experience.
- Minimum of one year of previous supervisory experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for required education.
- Must pass a DOT drug test and criminal background check.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Work schedule is Monday - Friday with Saturdays as required.
- This is outdoor work in all types of weather.
- Physical demands include exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to see, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; climb, kneel, stand, walk crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar tasks.
- Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, mists, odors and vibrations; Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
