As a Straw Boss you'll be responsible for assisting with the supervision of and expediting the work of a small group of workers to achieve performance goals and metrics in addition to performing your work assignments.

What you'll do:

Model and promote good safety practices.
Work with Foreman to plan the use of resources, personnel and workflow to achieve the daily production and delivery goals.
Be a hands-on leader working side by side with assigned work crew. Provide necessary communications, equipment, materials and training to ensure successful completion of tasks.
Follow and ensure all crew members comply with project procedures, safety requirements, work rules, etc. Immediately inform Foreman of any safety, operational or employee issues/concerns.
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with federal, state and local laws, statutes and regulations and to company and client specifications.

What you need:

Ability to read and speak English with ability to translate into Spanish for others.
Minimum of two years of construction, oil and gas or related industry experience.
Minimum of one year of previous supervisory experience preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for required education.
Must pass a DOT drug test and criminal background check.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

Work schedule is Monday - Friday with Saturdays as required.
This is outdoor work in all types of weather.
Physical demands include exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to see, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; climb, kneel, stand, walk crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar tasks.
Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, mists, odors and vibrations; Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
